The Sony FX3 is the most compact body in Sony's Cinema Line: a 12.1 MP full-frame sensor, internal 4K up to 120p in 10-bit 4:2:2, S-Cinetone and S-Log3, and 16-bit RAW output over a full-size HDMI port. A built-in fan supports long takes, the sensor is stabilised on five axes and dual slots take CFexpress Type A or SD cards. There is no viewfinder and no internal ND filter, so plan for a monitor and a variable ND. Quarter-inch threaded holes on the body let it go into a cage, onto a gimbal or a car rig with little extra hardware. Sony's XLR handle unit, which adds two XLR/TRS inputs through the Multi Interface Shoe, is not part of this item. Typical work: music videos, documentaries, branded content and B-camera duty beside larger cinema bodies.
