Behringer S16 Digital Stage Box

The Behringer S16 is an AES50 digital stage box with 16 remote-controllable Midas-designed mic preamps and 8 balanced XLR outputs in a 2U rack chassis. Connected to an X32-family console or a Midas M32 over a single Cat5e cable of up to 100 m, it puts the preamps on stage and sends monitor mixes back, with gain and phantom power set from the desk. Two AES50 ports let a second S16 be cascaded, an ULTRANET port feeds P16 personal monitors, two ADAT outputs and MIDI in/out connect outboard gear, and a front-panel headphone output checks inputs at the stage end. It replaces a heavy analogue multicore on stages, in conference rooms and at esports events, and with an X32 Compact it gives 32 mic inputs over one network cable. Behringer also describes using two S16s as a standalone 16x16 digital snake.
