O equipamento

Sobre este equipamento

A 50 m balanced microphone and line cable built on Sommer Cable's SC-Stage 22 Highflex and terminated with 3-pin XLR connectors. The cable has two 0.22 mm² (AWG 24) conductors of finely stranded oxygen-free copper, a copper spiral shield and a thick, soft PVC jacket of about 6.5 mm, which Sommer specifies for high bending cycles and easy reeling.

Use it for long analogue runs: stage to front of house, a commentary position back to the mixer, or a talkback or ambient mic far from the console. Balanced XLR keeps noise down over this distance at mic and line level, and 48 V phantom power passes through for condenser microphones. When several channels have to cover the same distance, a multicore or stage box is tidier than a bundle of single 50 m lines.

Destaques

  • 03Copper spiral shield with 99% optical coverage, per Sommer's datasheet
  • 04Soft PVC jacket of about 6.5 mm, specified by Sommer for high bending cycles and reeling
  • 05Carries mic-level and line-level signals, including 48 V phantom power

Perguntas frequentes

Perguntas sobre este equipamento

Yes. It is a standard balanced, shielded two-conductor XLR cable, so 48 V phantom power reaches condenser microphones.

Sommer specifies Stage 22 as a microphone cable, not a 110 Ω digital cable. For AES/EBU or DMX over 50 m, use a dedicated 110 Ω cable.

No. Balanced mic and line signals run over 50 m routinely. Keep the cable away from mains and dimmer feeds to limit hum.
