The Mini Converter Audio to SDI embeds audio into an SDI signal. It takes up to four channels of balanced analogue audio or eight channels of AES/EBU digital audio on four 6.3 mm jacks and inserts them into SD, HD or 3G-SDI video up to 1080p60. There is a main SDI input plus an ALT SDI input it switches to automatically if the main feed fails, a reclocked SDI output and USB for setup and firmware updates. Power comes from the included 12 V supply.
Typical jobs include putting the programme mix from the audio console onto the SDI feed for a recorder, encoder or broadcast handover, adding commentary to a clean camera feed, or getting audio into a vision chain with no free audio inputs. On live and esports shows it lets the sound desk deliver audio on the same cable as the pictures.
