The Sony FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS II is Sony's second-generation G Master telephoto zoom for full-frame E-mount, with a constant F2.8 aperture across the range. It weighs about 1,045 g without the tripod mount and zooms internally, so its length and balance stay the same from 70 to 200 mm, which is what you want on a gimbal, a monopod or a long handheld day. It takes 77 mm filters.
Four XD linear motors drive the focus, fast and quiet enough to track players, presenters or performers in video and stills, and Optical SteadyShot keeps handheld shots steady. It has an 11-blade circular aperture, a de-clickable aperture ring, focus-hold buttons and a focus range limiter, and the body is dust and moisture resistant. It works with Sony's 1.4x and 2x teleconverters. Typical jobs are events and conferences from the back of the room, esports and live shows, interviews with a compressed background, and sports.
