Sommer SDI Cable Drum (60m)

A 60 m run of Sommer SC-Vector 0.8/3.7 coax with BNC connectors at each end. The cable is 75 ohm with a 0.8 mm solid copper conductor, gas-injected PE dielectric (3.7 mm) and a 6 mm PVC outer jacket. Sommer rates the cable for 111 m at 3G-SDI, 75 m at 6G-SDI and 48 m at 12G-SDI (cable only, without connectors). That makes 60 m comfortable for HD-SDI and 3G-SDI 1080p, and still inside the 6G-SDI figure, but well beyond what Sommer specifies for 12G-SDI, so Ultra HD 60p links of this length belong on fibre. On events it suits the long legs from front of house or a camera platform back to the gallery, sent as one continuous length instead of a chain of patch leads.
