The gear

About this gear

This is the Hub8S configuration of Hollyland's Solidcom C1 Pro: a hub base station plus eight wireless remote headsets, all single-ear and full-duplex, with no beltpacks. It runs on 1.9 GHz DECT with adaptive frequency hopping, and Hollyland quotes 1,100 ft (350 m) line of sight between hub and headsets. Each headset has dual-microphone noise cancellation and a removable 700 mAh battery that Hollyland's manual rates at about 10 hours, with about 2.5 hours to recharge. This kit has two batteries per headset.

The hub ties the crew into the rest of the show. It has 2-wire and 4-wire intercom interfaces, a PGM audio input, a port for a wired headset and an RJ45 network port for its web interface, where headsets are split into A and B groups. Power comes from 12 V DC or NP-F, V-mount or G-mount batteries.

FAQ

Questions about this gear

This kit has eight wireless headsets on one hub. The hub also has a port for one wired headset, and Hollyland supports cascading extra hubs for bigger crews.

Hollyland quotes 1,100 ft (350 m) with clear line of sight between hub and headsets. Walls, crowds and steel structures shorten it, so mount the hub high with all four antennas fitted.

Yes. The hub has 2-wire and 4-wire audio interfaces and a PGM input for programme audio. The kit includes a 4-wire cable from the hub's RJ45 port to male and female XLR, ready for a matrix or a mixing desk. Confirm the interface settings for your system before the show.

From a 12 V DC adapter or from NP-F, V-mount or G-mount batteries, which helps at remote or outdoor positions.
