The gear

About this gear

The HyperX Cloud II is a closed-back, over-ear wired headset with 53 mm dynamic drivers (10 Hz-23 kHz), an aluminium frame and memory-foam cushions in leatherette. The detachable boom mic is a unidirectional, noise-cancelling electret condenser. On its own the headset plugs in with a 3.5 mm four-pole jack; through the USB audio control box it gets volume and mic-level buttons, a mic mute switch and virtual 7.1 surround on a PC.

We put them on player and caster positions at esports events, on crew comms that need a mic, and at sponsor or demo stations. HyperX lists them as compatible with PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. For pro tournament stages we also rent the AceZone A-Live as a separate item.
