About this gear
Godox's UL-Octa Box 150 is a 150 cm octagonal softbox that opens like an umbrella, so it goes up in one motion instead of rod by rod. It has a built-in Bowens S-type speed ring, a reflective silver interior, an inner baffle and an outer front diffuser for two-stage diffusion, and a fabric honeycomb grid. Godox lists it at about 1.75 kg.
At this size it is a big, soft key for full-length portraits, group shots and two-person interviews, and the octagon gives round catchlights. Add the grid when light needs to stay off a background or out of a second set. Pair it with a powerful Bowens COB light and a heavy stand or C-stand, sandbagged, because a 150 cm box catches air and shifts the centre of gravity.
