The gear
About this gear
The SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD is a rugged 1TB solid-state drive with a USB-C port running at USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps), rated by SanDisk at up to 1050 MB/s read and 1000 MB/s write. The rubber-armoured shell has a carabiner loop, an IP65 rating against dust and water and drop protection up to 3 m, and the drive supports 256-bit AES hardware encryption with a password.
On productions it is the drive to clip to a bag or a rig: camera offloads, project files and graphics packages moving between machines on site, in conditions where a bare drive would not last.

FAQ
Questions about this gear
Yes. It comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-C to USB-A adapter, so it works on both; on USB-A it runs at that port's speed.
Not when we hand it over. It supports SanDisk's password and hardware encryption if you want to set it up; we wipe it before every rental.
SanDisk rates it IP65: protected against dust and water jets. It is not waterproof for immersion.
