O equipamento

Sobre este equipamento

The M4250-12M2XF (NETGEAR part MSM4214X) is a 1U managed switch from NETGEAR's AV Line with twelve RJ45 ports at 100M, 1G or 2.5G and two SFP+ slots for 1G or 10G. It has no PoE. Network ports are on the rear and status LEDs on the front, and the 100 Gbps fabric is non-blocking across all 14 ports. NETGEAR IGMP Plus handles multicast out of the box, jumbo frames up to 12 KB are supported, and the fan can be set to fanless, quiet or cool mode.

It works as an edge switch next to an M4250 core: a 10G fibre uplink back to the main rack, then 2.5G ports for NDI encoders, replay or graphics machines, with VLANs keeping video and control traffic apart. A separate 1G out-of-band management port keeps admin access off the production network.

Perguntas frequentes

Perguntas sobre este equipamento

No. This model has no PoE, so PoE devices need a PoE switch such as the M4250-26G4XF-PoE+ or separate injectors.

Through its two SFP+ slots at 1G or 10G, using fibre optics or a DAC cable. NETGEAR's auto-trunk and auto-LAG connect it to other M4250 switches automatically.

The fan mode is selectable between fanless, quiet and cool. NETGEAR rates fanless operation for partial load, so a busy rack is better in quiet or cool mode.

NETGEAR lists 37.9 W at full load and 14.1 W with no ports connected.
