The gear
About this gear
The Sennheiser EW-DX EM 4 Dante is a four-channel digital receiver in a 1U, 19-inch metal chassis with a built-in power supply. This Q1-9 version tunes 470.2-550 MHz. All four channels go out on Dante through four configurable network ports, and each channel also has a balanced XLR and an unbalanced 6.3 mm jack output on the rear. Sennheiser quotes 1.9 ms wireless latency and AES-256 encryption, and the front has OLED displays and a headphone output.
A built-in antenna splitter feeds all four channels from one antenna pair, and the RF outputs loop through to further EM 4 units, up to 16 channels on the same antennas. Pair it with EW-DX transmitters on the same band, such as the SKM-S handhelds with MMD 845 capsules. Dante puts four mics onto a digital console or broadcast audio network over one cable; the analogue outputs cover desks without Dante.

FAQ
Questions about this gear
Sennheiser EW-DX handheld, bodypack and tablestand transmitters on the same Q1-9 range (470.2-550 MHz), such as the EW-DX SKM-S handhelds with MMD 845 capsules. Transmitters on other frequency ranges will not link to it.
No. Each channel also has a balanced XLR output and an unbalanced 6.3 mm jack output on the rear, so it works with analogue desks too.
No, the splitter is built in. It comes with two rod antennas; for larger rooms connect remote antennas such as the Sennheiser A 1031-U or ADP UHF, or the RF Venue 4 ZONE-Network combiner, to the RF inputs.
From mains through an IEC cable. The power supply is internal and accepts 90-265 V AC.
