The gear

About this gear

The Mackie ProFX16v3 is a 16-channel analogue mixer with 11 Onyx mic preamps, 3-band EQ with a sweepable mid, a 100 Hz low-cut on every channel and switchable 48 V phantom power. Eight channels have built-in compressors, two take Hi-Z instruments directly, and the GigFX engine offers 24 effects such as reverbs, delays and choruses. Routing covers three aux/monitor outputs, two stereo subgroups, a control-room output and a headphone output with its own level.

The built-in USB interface records the stereo main mix to a computer at up to 24-bit/192 kHz and returns two stereo playback streams, which covers a recording, a stream feed or laptop playback. It is a quick, hands-on desk for conferences, small concerts, services and podcasts with a handful of mics, and a footswitch input mutes the effects between songs.
