The Tamron 17-28mm F/2.8 Di III RXD (Model A046) is a full-frame ultra-wide zoom for Sony E-mount with a constant f/2.8 aperture. It uses 13 elements in 11 groups, a 9-blade circular aperture and an RXD stepping motor for quiet autofocus, and focuses down to 0.19 m at 17 mm. At 99 mm long and 420 g it is light for a fast wide zoom.
It shares the 67 mm filter thread with Tamron's 28-75mm and 70-300mm, so one set of NDs covers all three. Moisture-resistant construction and a fluorine-coated front element help on location. Use it for venue wides, interiors, gimbal shots and tight spaces such as backstage corridors or vehicles. There is no optical stabilisation; Sony bodies with IBIS handle that.
