The gear
About this gear
Starlink Mini is the compact Starlink satellite terminal with the Wi-Fi router built in. The phased-array antenna measures 298.5 x 259 x 38.5 mm, weighs 1.10 kg and has a 110° field of view, and it is aimed by hand with guidance from the Starlink app. It is rated IP67 with the DC cable and Starlink Plug fitted, works from -30 °C to 50 °C, draws 25-40 W on average and takes 12-48 V DC, so it can also run from a battery.
On location it gives a production its own internet uplink: a backup WAN for a streaming encoder or router, connectivity for a remote crew, or a data link where the venue has no network. Its Wi-Fi 5 covers up to 112 m². A wired link to a router uses the latching Ethernet port behind the Starlink Plug.

FAQ
Questions about this gear
The kit is the hardware only. Starlink Mini needs an active Starlink subscription to get online, so service has to be in place before the job.
Yes, within Starlink's rating: a 12-48 V, 60 W DC supply, or a USB-C PD source of at least 100 W (20 V / 5 A) using Starlink's USB-C to barrel jack cable, which is not in the kit.
Yes, through the latching Ethernet port behind the Starlink Plug. Starlink sells a Mini cable for it separately, and the unit is no longer rated IP67 with a standard RJ45 cable.
Outdoors with a clear view of the sky, aimed with the Starlink app. Trees, roofs or buildings in its 110° field of view interrupt the service.
