The gear
About this gear
An 8-port unmanaged Gigabit desktop switch in a steel case, fanless and powered by a small external adapter. TP-Link specifies 11.9 Mpps forwarding, a 4K MAC table, 16 KB jumbo frames, 802.1p/DSCP QoS and a maximum draw of 3.7 W, and it can sit on a desk or be screwed to a wall.
Drop one at a commentary desk, a referee table or a row of player PCs to turn a single cable from the main switch into several ports. There is nothing to set up. For VLANs or multicast control, keep a managed switch upstream and use this one at the edge of the network.
