The gear
About this gear
An 80 m length of Sommer SC-Vector 0.8/3.7, the 75 ohm coax with a 0.8 mm solid copper conductor, 3.7 mm gas-injected PE dielectric and 6 mm PVC jacket, with BNC connectors on both ends. Sommer rates the cable for 111 m at 3G-SDI, 75 m at 6G-SDI and 48 m at 12G-SDI (cable only, without connectors).
At 80 m it is a 3G-SDI and HD-SDI cable: 1080p signals stay inside the 111 m rating, while 6G-SDI (75 m) and 12G-SDI (48 m) are beyond Sommer's figures. That makes it the longest copper option for HD camera and programme feeds across large venues and outdoor sites; for Ultra HD at this distance, use fibre converters instead.

FAQ
Questions about this gear
No. Sommer rates SC-Vector 0.8/3.7 to 111 m at 3G-SDI, so 1080p50 or 1080p60 over 80 m is within spec.
Not within Sommer's ratings: 6G-SDI is rated to 75 m and 12G-SDI to 48 m. For Ultra HD over this distance, use a fibre link.
BNC at both ends, so it connects directly to SDI cameras, switchers, converters and monitors.
