The gear
About this gear
Two converters share one small metal box here: SDI in to HDMI out, and HDMI in to SDI out, both running at the same time. The SDI ports are multi-rate 12G (270 Mb up to 12G), so the unit covers SD and HD through Ultra HD and DCI 4K up to 60p, and the HDMI 2.0 connectors keep pace. A 33-point 3D LUT can be loaded with Blackmagic's setup utility to calibrate a monitor, and power arrives over USB-C at 5 W maximum.
On a 4K show it bridges an HDMI camera, laptop or playback machine into the SDI system, while the opposite path takes a router or switcher feed out to a TV or projector. Because it draws so little power, a laptop or monitor USB-C port can run it; the supplied 5 V adapter covers everything else.
