About this gear
A 1-in, 8-out SDI distribution amplifier in Blackmagic's Mini Converter housing. It auto-detects SD, HD and 3G-SDI signals up to 1080p60 and re-clocks all eight outputs, which carry ASI, ancillary data and embedded audio through untouched. It is powered by the included 12 V supply, draws about 4.8 W and accepts 12 to 30 V.
Use it to split one programme or camera feed to several places at once: confidence monitors, recorders, encoders, the projection desk and a press feed, without daisy-chaining loop-throughs. Because every output is re-clocked, each destination gets a clean copy of the signal even when the downstream cable runs differ. Firmware can be updated through its USB port.
