The gear
About this gear
The 3G member of Blackmagic's Micro Converter range converts SDI to HDMI and HDMI to SDI at the same time. Its SDI side runs at 270 Mb, 1.5G and 3G, which covers SD, HD up to 1080p60 and 2K DCI up to 2Kp60, and the SDI output automatically follows the format arriving on HDMI. Outputs are re-clocked, consumption is 2.5 W and power comes in over USB-C.
These are the everyday glue of an HD event: a presenter laptop into the SDI switcher, the programme output back out to a TV for confidence monitoring, or a mirrorless camera onto a long SDI run. With both directions in one box, a single spare covers either job, which keeps the converter count sensible on multi-camera productions.

Questions about this gear
No. It is a 3G-SDI converter for SD, HD and 2K DCI formats up to 60p. For Ultra HD sources use the 12G version.
Both ways at once: SDI in goes to HDMI out and HDMI in goes to SDI out, so the two paths can carry different sources.
Over USB-C (4.4 to 5.25 V). It runs from a 5 V USB-C adapter or from a USB-C port on a laptop, monitor or projector.
